Jim L. Casey

A native of Texas, Jim earned his Bachelor's Degree from Sam Houston State University and taught in the Texas public schools for 17 years.  He served two terms as President of the Texas Choral Directors Association.

As we all know, Jim was an accomplished soloist and performed on many occasions with various orchestras and choral ensembles in and around the Dallas area.  Jim sang in three Southwestern District Quartet Champions..Sound  Arrangement - 1979; Lone Star Statesmen - 1980 and Texas Gold - 1982.  In January 2005, Jim's Senior Quartet, Texoma Sound, won the International Seniors Quartet Championship.   

Jim worked on the Society Staff as a Music Specialist for a short time and taught vocal techniques at Harmony College for many years.  Jim is survived by his wife, Glenda, a daughter, Lisa and son, Kelton and one grandson, Evan.

He is missed by many who knew and were close to him.
